Leggings

Haiiiii! So lately I’ve been more inspired to do different styles, more themed or music related maybe? Because really, music and fashion have always been intrinsically linked, with music inspiring or at least supporting whole fashion looks. I wanted to do something completely different from the last post, more dark(ish) gothy doll inspired. I’ve had this awesome sinistyle jacket for a while now, and though I wear it often I don’t think I’ve blogged it before. It’s called ‘death dealer’ and though you have to buy the shorter version separately, it also comes with a longer version and all with resizable script! My inspiration was Milk Motion’s necklace, with the little skull! I love Marie’s creations, and Royal Blue’s boots seemed perfect on this look! Bed hair choice,

Fun, funky, sparkly, 80s and always over the top! She pushes the envelope in her fashion choices, always taking risks and it works. I can't get enough of her and her popularity is just growing with every passing day. I'm talking about Lady Gaga. She is a performance artist and we haven't really seen a good one since Britney. Some people think they can just get up on stage, not rehearse and start their songs over and over. So no matter what you think of Lady Gaga's fashion choices or her as an artist, at least we know she gives us a show. And I appreciate it.I realize that in the "real" world, you can't go around wearing hot pants. And it's a shame, they should really start making this acceptable...nevermind, I got a visual of my former boss in hot pants and it wasn't good. So, I am going to take some elements of her outfits and incorporate it into everyday clothes and going out clothes. Here are 3 different looks we've seen Lady Gaga sporting.

Shirt-dresses have become a summer essential in the past few years. I see it as the less girly version of the other dress trends (like bubble, volume, trapeze, mini or maxi dresses). I've been looking around for one for ages, and even though I still haven't found the perfect one, I've bought one from the Gap (the UK one). It's grey and white striped and it's got rolled-up-looking sleeves. It's not exactly the prettiest or glamorous thing around, but it's super relaxing item to wear and looks decent enough after I add on a thin, white patent belt. Some online finds:

You would have thought it would be over by now. The nation's love affair with leggings continues. A hideous 80s trend that somehow made its way into the wardrobe of (apparently) every woman in the country.I have a confession to make. I did wear leggings. When I was 7 and I was going through a sportwear phase. Not when I was late teens/early twenties. My personal disagreement with leggings is mostly their ability to stump-ify the longest legs. I have ridiculous legs, like 35 inch inside leg measurement and they would even make THEM look short. Why are people insisting on shortening their legs when surely the aim is to look graceful, elegant and long of limb?
